The Youth mill presents at NT Local court Judge’s conference

Participants of the Beats of Culture program worked hard at rehearsing for a presentation at the NT Local Court Judges Conference which was held at the Darwin Convention Centre. The young people performed a song they had written together titled ‘The System’ four  of them then spoke about  the system and the impact it has on themselves and their families. They spoke with pride, grace, honesty and a sense of vulnerability. There was not many dry eyes in the audience of Judges!! So proud of my young people and the program we have developed and very grateful to the Australian Federal Government- Indigenous Language and Arts department for the funding we have received enabling the growth of the ‘Beats of Culture’ (BoC) music program.
