Liam Stansfeild

Liam Stansfeild

Liam is a Larrakia person from the Shepherd family born and raised in Darwin, and believes strongly in family and community values. He studied music at the Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts located in Brisbane (2016-2018), and now works alongside other participants of The Youth Mill performing Arts company showcasing his vocal abilities and delighting audiences throughout the Northern Territory and east coast major cities He has connected with many audiences by presenting emotionally unique “Welcome to Country” discourse and vocalising original material created through workshops. Liam has grown into a professional performer and hopes to inspire and encourage other young people to follow their creative dreams.

Edwin Fejo

Edwin Fejo

Edwin is a proud Larrakia & Warray person who is devoted to advocating about his country and people. He shares knowledge and passion for his land through singing and speaking about the importance of his ancestors and mob. He grew up in the Northern Territory on Bagot, Darwin’s largest urban community, Acacia Larrakia community and out bush on rural communities Beswick and Barunga, located near Katherine, NT. Edwin is a strong advocate for my lgbtq+ community here in Darwin and proud that he can express his identity with his Larrakia mob. “I was given the skin name bulanj” “My totem is Green tree frog” Edwin fejo

Shanice McLean

Shanice McLean

Shanice is an Eastern Yilinji woman growing up by the coast in Mossman, a rural town just north of Cairns, Queensland. Shanice is a graduate of Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts (ACPA) and is a wonderfully accomplished vocalist. Her voice, beauty and soul inspires other young people and lights up the stage when performing.

The team member we can always rely on, he is the one who inspires us with his determination and flexibility to complete tasks and solve problems which is what makes him a great role model and ethical worker. Leeroy’s communication and listening skills are excellent, he is passionate with the dealings of people in many different situations, and embraces a great work ethic and energy. Leeroy is a wonderful performer and mentor.

Leigh Fowlestone

Leigh Fowlestone

Leigh is a proud Wiradjuri man however he was born and raised in Darwin Northern Territory and Adelaide River which is a long way from his homelands in News South Wales. Leigh picked up the yidarki, (didgeridoo) at very young age, it is a gift that calms his soul and is his foremost favorite Passion alongside his skill as an accomplished artist.

Kai Chen Lim

Kai Chen Lim

Kai Chen Lim is a film composer, orchestrator/arranger and television producer. Since completing his studies in film music at UCLA’s Film Scoring Extension program, Lim has built a large body of work in both narrative and documentary, short and feature length films, live performance, television and advertisement. This has culminated in award wins and film screenings at festivals such as the Academy Awards® accredited Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF). As an arranger/orchestrator, Lim has been working since 2017 on the VSSS and often arranges for the ABC and Nine Network. Currently, Lim is the Associate Music Producer for Vision Australia’s Carols By Candlelight on Nine Network. Through his many years working in conjunction with TYMPAC, Kai sought to deepen his awareness of collaborating on a musical level with indigenous and Torres Strait island people.

Greyson Butler

Greyson Butler

Greyson participated in various string orchestras and symphonies whilst growing up in the USA. Moving to Darwin expanded his musical ensemble involvement and introduced him to a diverse range of opportunities and understanding. His most memorable and meaningful performances have been those working with First Nations people to express their experiences and stories through music. The beauty of these cross-cultural moments gives his music life unobtainable elsewhere, and he is proud to share the message that we are two, and we are one.

Sarah Ladd

Sarah Ladd

As a violin teacher, Sarah channels the gratitude instilled in her since the age of 4, recognizing the profound impact violin lessons had on her life. She teaches her students the powerful impact of music education, promoting unity through the universal language of the violin. Sarah sees the gift of being a violinist not only as a personal triumph but a tool that is used to cultivate cultural unity working with companies like The Youth Mill Performing Arts Co (TYMPAC) in the Northern Territory, Australia. After living in the Territory for more than a decade, she is happy to call it home. Sarah is proud to help the next generation appreciate diverse music and connect through their performances. It is an honour to be part of companies such as The Youth Mill Performing Arts Co and its educational mission.

HAMISH MARTIN

HAMISH MARTIN

Hamish is a passionate musician and proud Territorian born and raised in Darwin. As well as being a Cellist, he loves fishing, playing sport and taking advantage of what the NT has to offer. Growing up Hamish was inspired by his mother who has a background as a classical musician which helped foster his love for music.  He currently works for the Northern Land Council advocating to give Aboriginal people a voice on issues affecting their lands, seas and communities as well as teaching and playing the Cello as often as he can.
