AUDITION CALL OUT: THE YOUTH MILL PERFORMING ARTS COMPANY
Calling All First Nations Young Performers in Queensland!
Are you ready to showcase your talent and be part of a revolutionary youth-driven performing arts company? The Youth Mill Performing Arts Company is on the hunt for passionate, diverse, and fearless young First Nations artists aged 16-27 to join our 2025 ensemble. Whether you’re a singer, instrumentalist, dancer or triple threat, this is your chance to shine on stage and beyond!
This audition is also your chance to be selected for an exclusive 8-week workshop program with the potential to join our core professional performance team and will be hosted at Triple A in West End. Facilitating weekly workshops, this program is a unique opportunity to develop your craft under the guidance of First Nations mentors and Elders. Dive deeper into storytelling, performance, and cultural exploration in a space that celebrates and amplifies Indigenous voices. This hands-on experience will empower you to refine your skills while connecting with rich traditions and contemporary practices. Participants will also have the chance to collaborate with fellow emerging artists and create works that honour and uplift First Nations Cultures.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Singers: Showcase your vocal range, from soulful ballads to electrifying anthems.
- Creators: Writers, composers, or choreographers with a passion for storytelling and innovation.
- Dancers: Express yourself through movement in any style—hip hop, contemporary, traditional, or fusion.

AUDITION DETAILS:
Dates: 7th & 8th December, 2024. With allocated timeslots TBC
Location: In-person auditions will be held in Brisbane at 2 Ambleside St, Westend QLD 4101.
Video submissions will be accepted via Google Drive, YouTube, Vimeo etc. OR by attaching the video file to your audition application email.
WHAT TO PREPARE:
1. Song : Prepare 16-32 bars of a song that highlights your vocal skills.
2. Dance Routine (Optional): Bring your own track or use one of ours! All styles welcome.
3. Show us YOU: Be ready for a short interview to tell us about your journey, inspirations, and what drives your passion for the arts.

- Name, age, and location
- Headshot and resume (optional for first-time performers)
- Any links to previous performances, reels, or creative works
- A brief paragraph about what excites you about joining The Youth Mill
